I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at RBC (Toronto, ON) in Feb 2018
Interview
1st stage interview consisted of two parts: a fit-based interview and a consulting case interview. Interviewers were all extremely friendly. Will provide some guidance/hints if you get stuck on the case.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at RBC (Toronto, ON)
Interview
Received an email quickly after submitting my application which included plans for a preliminary telephone conversation as well as a formal interview at a later date.
The phone interview was laid back and included questions like why do you want the job, what got you interested in rbc, and what do you know about business architecture.
The first face to face meeting was about 45 minutes quite a bit more formal but yet relaxed. First half was behaviour questions (why here, why you, why rbc, why department, describe a time you succeeded, a time you failed, introduce yourself)
The second half was more specific strategy questions, I was asked to fill out the path I would take to gather information relevant to a case given.
Following the second interview, after about a week I was given the date for a third interview which took about 3 hours and interviews of three different topics from about 10 people.
First was behavioural, second was a business model (internal diagram), third was a live case. The people were very pleasant however will intentionally make you uncomfortable. If you know business architecture you will be fine, it is a very specific thought process and can be learned.
