Interview
First a telephone interview, then received the invitation to the assessment center about 3 days later. There were two interviews at the assessment center, the first was with two MDs, going through your CV and asking some basic technical questions. Then you was asked to read an annual report in a room and fill in some figures left out in the financial models. And give out your assessment of the company, do you recommend it or not.

Question 1
For the telephone interview, questions were quite standard, like why would you want to work in this department, is it better to be correct or have different views from other analysts. Recommend a stock and a brain teaser to find a ball of different weight out of several balls with a balance.

You will meet several team members in the final interview.
Need to describe appealing stocks.
Both in English and Japanese.
It took 3 hours in final round.

Say recent 5 year earnings surprises. Tell me the advantages by hiring you.
IN total 3 rounds, first is online test, second is a phone interview with a senior analyst, and then the last rounds is ac with two rounds with global head from Canada and others
Phone screening followed by zoom interviews with senior people. Questions were a mix of behavioral questions and equity research specific questions. I did not get passed round two so my insight is limited.
