      Tax Internship Interview

      6 Jan 2011
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Kansas City, MO
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at PwC (Kansas City, MO) in Nov 2010

      Interview

Interviews began on campus with a 1:1 interview with a partner from the firm. No technical questions or behavioral questions were asked. The first 30 minutes I was asked to talk about experiences that I had put on my resume. The remaining 15 minutes were questions I asked the interviewer such as, "How do you separate yourself from the other big 3 firms?" or "How did you get to where you are now?" The second interview will be at their offices. They'll put you up in a hotel and have a social the night proceeding. They'll assign you a guide who's been with the company a year or so (an associate) who should introduce you to those who will be interviewing you the next day. If he/she does not, ask them to. The next morning they'll serve you breakfast while you watch a presentation. Then you tour the offices and that's followed by interviews. Tax applicants had two 1:1 interviews and audit applicants had 3 1:1 interviews. These are with partners, directing managers, or senior managers. You'll also have a panel of associates to ask questions to, particularly those questions that you might not want to ask during an interview with a partner. Everyone seemed very nice. Attire for employees was open collar button ups or polos. No ties!

      Anonymous employee
      Seattle, WA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at PwC (Seattle, WA) in Feb 2026

      Interview

Interview process was very straightforward and went well! There was one scenario-based interview and one behavioral interview. 30-minutes each, back-to-back. I interviewed with a Director and and Partner and they were both super friendly and kind. The interview questions were somewhat challenging but nothing beyond what you would expect. The interview experience was somewhat casual and didn't really feel like you were being interviewed.

      Question 1

Imagine you get transferred to a new team and have an important client meeting that you have to lead in a few days. What steps do you take to make sure that you are as prepared as possible before the meeting?

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at PwC (Jakarta) in Oct 2025

      Interview

The interview process was online and felt very chill. It lasted about 25 minutes and included roughly ten HR questions, mainly focused on personality, motivation, and basic fit with the role and company.

      Question 1

Could you please tell me a bit about yourself in your own words? Tell me about a time you had to work with people from different backgrounds — how did you make it work?

      Perm
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

      I interviewed at PwC (Perm)

      Interview

HR contacted me first, then I passed an online test (English and math/logic). Second stage was the test with other candidates in the office with tax-specific questions. Finally, I had a call with two company representatives - I had to tell more about myself and why I fit the position and they checked my tax knowledge.
