      I interviewed at PwC (Sydney)

      Interview

Online Application & Behavioral Assessments: Shortly after submitting my CV, I received an invite to complete online behavioral "games" (cognitive and emotional intelligence tasks via SHL) which took around 55 minutes. Digital Interview & Team Preference: Within 48 hours of passing the games, I recorded a short one-way video interview answering two motivational questions, followed by selecting my specific team preferences within PwC’s tech business units. In-Person Assessment Centre (Barangaroo Office): This was a half-day event. The morning session was a collaborative group case study with 5 other candidates, mimicking a real-world client scenario where we had to evaluate system implementation choices. Final Individual Interview: Held on the same day in a relaxed, "café-style" environment. I sat down with a Director and a Senior Engineer for a 45-minute conversation that focused heavily on communication skills, the PwC Professional framework, and how I approach technical trade-offs.

      Question 1

"What specific aspects of PwC and the Technology team align with your skills, and how do you plan to advance your career over the next five years?" How I answered: I explained that I chose PwC over a traditional pure-tech firm because I wanted to see the direct commercial impact of the software I build on diverse industries. I highlighted my final-year software project where I had to present technical system architecture to non-technical business students. I told them my five-year goal is to bridge the gap between heavy technical engineering and strategic client solutions, eventually working toward a Technical Architect or Lead consultant path within the firm.
