I got the call for an interview on a Saturday Jan 23, 2015. On Monday Jan 25, 2015 I went for interview & the manager that interviewed me (Glen is his name) was so laid back that it made it easy for me to relax and get comfortable answering his questions...I was hired on the spot! I got drug tested right after (A Cotton Swab in Mouth) the interview and also a criminal background check. They told me they had to wait till the drug and criminal background check came back and that it would take 1 to 2 weeks and that they would call me. On Jan, 31 I got the call to come in on Wed Feb 3rd to fill out some tax papers, get my work schedule for the week and a few other things. Sat Feb, 6 I went to orientation. Not only do we get paid for the day and get a free sub, chips and drink, the orientation was easy and the instructor was funny. We watched some videos, answered some questions and played roles with our team mates. Bring a pen, the paperwork you were given the day before, dress as your told, and bring your new name tag. The day after orientation Feb 7th I started working. The first day was watching videos on safety, money, customer service, organic foods and ect.... (= I've been there for 2weeks now and I enjoy it. The workers are all friendly as well as the customers. If you are anything like me a positive, organized, clean, easy going, friendly, people person, then working at Publix is the perfect place for you to join!
