This was by far one of the worst interviews I have ever been a part of. I arrived at the Corporate office, signed in with the receptionist who was more concerned with her conversation with a co-worker than to properly greet me.
As I sat waiting, a tour group came in, that was formed of all employees. One of the ladies thought I was the tour leader and I thought she was my interviewer. She smiled said hello, I stood and started walking to her. The receptionist told the employee "Not her, she's here for an interview." The employee and I both gave each other looks, because the tone made us both uncomfortable.
Then when the actual interviewer walked out, she said my name, and as I tried to walk over to shake her hand, she literally TURNED HER BACK TO ME. We entered a conference room a few steps away, where there was another woman already sitting down, who also made no attempt to shake my hand. There were no pleasantries or small talk, they just went straight into their 3 PAGES of questions.
The first question was "Walk me through your current day" I asked if she meant at work, and after looking at me as if I am incompetent, she confirmed yes that is what she meant. I explained, that as it shows on my resume (That I could clearly see was sitting in front of her) that I had been out of work for some time. This just proved that they had not even bothered to look at my resume, and then never even asked anything pertaining to my resume.
Now I will admit I did not give the best answers for the many questions they asked, some of which were practically identical. However both of their demeanors were so off putting the entire time.
When it came time for my questions, they did not answer them, but went on rants about random stuff. When I asked what is the remaining interview process, they said they don't know. I asked what is the timeline for expecting to make a hiring decision, they didn't know. How as the two managers for the hiring department do you not know the answer to that simple question.
At the end, they told me I could leave, neither of them stood to shake my hand again, no smiles, they just sat there coldly staring at the table in silence. It was clear to me that they did not want to interview me, and already had someone in-line for the role.
I would like to point out that they did confirm the pay at $17/ per hr. and stated "this role has absolutely NO room for growth."
