I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Providence (Orange, CA) in Jun 2020
Interview
There were two rounds. First was a panel with mangers/educators from random units. If you moved on to the second round, is was a group interview with the unit manager for the unit you applied for. I personally didn't think this was an effective method. I think the individual interview should have been with the unit you applied for.
I applied online. I interviewed at Providence (Los Angeles, CA) in Oct 2022
Interview
This was by far the easiest interview process of all the residency programs I applies to in LA and OC area. I applied, then 3 days later received an automated text to answer some questions such as are you ok with night shift, whats your flexibility, do you have your BSN, etc. Then after that they liked my answers so I was sent a link to schedule an interview that following week on microsoft teams. The first interview was with 2 nurse managers as well as a charge nurse. After that they liked me so that same day I interviewed with the unit I was applying for director. Although I must note I found the first interview team to be very cold and make me feel very rushed. The director of the unit was amazing though and made me feel confident and welcomed.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What attributes would you bring to Providence, why are you applying for this unit, a diversity question, pretty much all your typical new grad interview questions, as well as a prioritization question and case study.
