The initial call with Adrian: - he arrived 4 minutes late, I was going to leave just before he finally entered the meeting: considering this is a german company, you'd expect punctuality. - the call went well, it's an audio only call (unusual these days) but nothing to say about that - scheduled a meeting with Ben & Hani the next day The call with Ben & Hani: - two amazing guys, we had an 1 hour non boring tech call - Ben took the lead in the interview - I'd rate it a 10/10 type of tech interview with jumping in real world scenarios where they can see how you'd react on a business critical decision making in terms of coding. Both of them seem friendly, young, communicative and extremely competent in their field. Definitely you'd want to be part of such a talented team. This resulted into me being taken on the 3rd stage, the challenge. The coding challenge: - reasonable if you know what you are doing although expected to complete it in 4 hours (they allow up to 2 days but mention that shouldn't take more than 4 hours) - I took the challenge, very, very interesting indeed - complexity level: intermediate I pushed the coding challenge to the git repo and awaited at least 10 days for a feedback. - the challenge took 6 hours in total of my own weekend time - given that, I really enjoyed the task as it was challenging because i needed to implement a new concept which I didn't do before - used laravel's pipelines to do some data modeling After all this effort and time spent, I even followed up to Adrian to ask for feedback. Guess what? No answer after that... the typical scheme. You'd expect some respect back for your time spent on the task, be it negative or positive. But ghosting people like that shouldn't ever happen. It's a clear sign of severe disrespect and contradicts every other positive aspect that I encountered during the whole interviewing process. If you ever consider interviewing for Procuros, keep in mind that your efforts will not be counted at all. What is so hard in sign of respect for a candidate to hit reply on a mail? Or maybe you treat programmers like cattle? You can say anything, just don't ghost people. Time is a limited resource we all have, spend it wisely.
