      Sales Representative Interview

      5 Jun 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Austin, TX
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Procore Technologies (Austin, TX) in May 2019

      Interview

      - Two screening phones calls, one of which the initial point of contact stated “I don’t know if you have the right background for this role but we can see what happens”. Which didn’t sit well with me to start the process. - On site interview with 3-5 members of management. Extremely repetitive, had to explain time after time my background, why Procore, etc. after the 3rd time I was pretty over it. Not an efficient way of seeing what candidates may be the best fit. * They tour you through their high rise office space and although it’s a beautiful location, I focused in on the current employees. The sales “bullpen” and cubicle areas were full of young and driven individuals, but most of which looked miserable. Headsets on, staring at screens, and not many smiles as you looked around. At this point I got a pretty good feeling that this rapid expansion is likely creating some high turnover. Although they preach about company culture, it was clear to see individuals very easily could get lost in the mix of it all. - Final in person interview with a more superior member of management. Similar questions and conversation surrounding the new role. - Low offer (approx 10% below market average for position) pending approval from final interview.

Long, painful, and waste of one's time. Multiple inside recruiters not talking to one another. All I heard is how great I was and yet position after position filled with others.

      Sales Representative Interview

      9 Mar 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

      I interviewed at Procore Technologies

      Interview

The interviewer (based in Austin) for my position in Carpenteria seemed to be going through the motions with questions and seemed thoroughly uninterested in my candidacy. I had done a lot of research and preparation to interview with the company as I really liked the corporate culture. However, she seemed predetermined that I wasn't the right candidate from the beginning and kept telling me that I was overqualified for the position and that I would be bored. Very disappointing process.
