      Engine Mechanic Interview

      4 Mar 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Middletown, CT
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Pratt & Whitney (Middletown, CT) in Feb 2016

      Interview

I was invited to a hiring event in CT, but I wasn't local so a phone interview was scheduled. The interviewer promptly called at our scheduled time and was very forthright about the position, benefits, expectations, etc. Very reasonable and personable interviewer. Questions were basically two types. First was the typical STAR-type behavioral questions. The second were more technical questions to gauge your knowledge of the company, turbine engines, good mechanic practices, etc. We spent about 45 minutes on the phone when I was told to expect an answer in 2-3 weeks. Exactly one week later, I received a job offer with above-average compensation. Very pleased with the process, although it took about 3 weeks from my application submission date to a email about the hiring event.
