      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Pramerica (Letterkenny) in Jun 2016

      Interview

I submitted a CV online, and was contacted the next day by the HR team to arrange a phone interview. He was very approachable and efficient, arranging a time with the interviewers and getting back to me by email as requested as I was at work at the time, and arranging the best number to contact me on for the interview itself. I was very impressed with the HR team. For the interview itself, I was expecting a 'proper' interview, albeit by phone. I've had phone interviews before and they usually tend to go on longer if anything. I'd had the names of the interviewers from the HR rep, but no other details but I'd been able to look them up online, so I was prepared with information about the company and a stack of questions to ask them about the projects and the role itself. When the interview started they were a few minutes late in calling me, one of the attendees wasn't on the call (although this wasn't explained). The senior interviewer said they only had thirty minutes and then passed me on to their colleague who asked me to go through my CV - however, with such a short timeframe I wasn't able to expand on my experience in any great detail, certainly no more than the information they already had from my CV and cover letter itself. At the end of the thirty minutes the interviewer brought the senior manager back on to the call, which took some time as they'd been on mute and weren't immediately available, who wrapped it up with the usual 'we'll be in touch and if we want to progress we'll request a face to face interview'. I followed up with HR after a few days, who said they'd ask the interviewers for feedback but I never heard anymore from them. My overall experience with their interview process was really quite poor. The whole interview felt very 'token', as though they had to interview me as I met the requirements but for whatever reason they had no intention of taking it further. If I'd been briefed on the format I could have prepared for a half-hour CV run through rather than the standard interview I did prepare for, and having interviewed me a simple email to say 'sorry, you're not what we're after' would seem like a common courtesy.
