Interview
After submitting application, there was a recruiter phone screen. It took about 30 minutes but it was strained and recruiter discussed how she was let go but continuing on to fill the roll as a contractor. She did say upfront she may interrupt me during my answers so she gave the same amount of time to each candidate. I was immediately throwing up red flags. From there, as the conversation progressed, she stated the company had gone through 2 rounds of layoffs in about 2 years with the most recent one last year which is why the company is at 23 people currently. I asked what the interview process would look like and the recruiter stated it would be a 45 minute deep dive with her detailing all the work I had done at my previous roles and if she liked what she heard from there, the other 45 minutes dedicated to this would be completed by the hiring manager. After digging further into the work history, if a candidate passed those rounds, it would then be a tech challenge to be presented to a team to ensure there wasn't AI usage. If a candidate moved on, it would be a conversation with the leadership team and followed by an extensive background check to ensure previous companies/ managers had nothing but glowing reviews of the person. Once that was completed, a member of senior leadership would be flown out to visit with the candidate for at least half a day before an offer was presented. I'm a little concerned at how extensive this interview process is considering they are trying to reduce costs on recruiting/ retention. I'm happy to say I did not move on because if I had, I would have declined anyway.

They ask your age in the process and you can't opt out or put in today's date. Ageism much? Horrible way to screen prospective employees. And you are probably getting bad management reviews because you only hire young people who have very little management experience. Isn't this illegal to ask people's age in the interview process?
Our interview practices include a voluntary diversity survey that is aimed at capturing candidate demographic data to ensure we have a diverse applicant pool for all roles. We invite candidates to opt in or opt out of the survey to help us evaluate our diversity and inclusion efforts.
Refusal to provide information for this survey will not subject you to any adverse treatment or affect your job application. Information obtained is kept separate from your name and/or the role. We place value on diversifying talent and experience across our teams at Poll Everywhere and we hope this provides more insight into the purpose of this survey. We wish you the best of luck in your job search.

Interview process was done remotely and was overall a positive experience; but I decided to pursue other opportunities and did not continue. Recruiter was polite as well as the hiring manager.
