I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Pocket Gems
Interview
I went through three rounds of interviews - all with case studies and the third round is a take home test which was very time consuming. The team doesn’t seem genuine in hiring and they just want to see what’s out there. Avoid investing your time and energy in applying for this position, especially the take home part, if you’re truly looking for an opportunity rather than just looking around. It’s not worth your time because they’ll eventually find a reason to reject you.
Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback. I am sorry that your interview with Pocket Gems did not match our intention of providing you with the very best candidate experience. We will take your feedback and address the areas where you felt that we missed the bar.
For instance, the take-home exercise exists to help our team further vet out an individual's analytical and technical abilities. I am sorry if you felt that the exercise was not the best use of your time, but we sincerely appreciate your efforts in completing the work.
Thanks again for your feedback, as we want everyone to come away from our interviews feeling positively about Pocket Gems and our games. We wish you all of the best in your future endeavors.

The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Pocket Gems (San Francisco, CA)
Interview
I had 2 phone screens that I felt went well. I had business cases during each phone screen. After the second phone screen, I was asked to do a take home exercise. This was a very time consuming exercise, but I did it anyways and I put a lot of effort into it. About a week after I submitted the exercise, I emailed to follow up. Instead of responding via personal email, they responded with a generic rejection email from a ‘no-reply’ email address. Interesting way to deal with a candidate who spent over a month interviewing and hours on a take home exercise. Definitely left me with a bad taste in my mouth.
We appreciate your honest feedback about your interview experience. I agree with your opinion, in that a generic email is not an appropriate response to someone who has been involved in our interview process for any length of time, and that is something we have strived hard to correct in the last few months. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, as it certainly did not go unnoticed, and we appreciate your interest in Pocket Gems.
