I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Plume Design (San Francisco, CA) in Sept 2021
Interview
There were 2 technical rounds before the virtual onsite. For each of them, I was tested on Python and SQL easy questions. Then the onsite consisted of 4 rounds where the interviewer didn't show up for the last round. Completely unorganized - they didn't have the record of my previous interviews and were asking me what was I tested on. For the onsite too, first 2 rounds were again Python and SQL (seemed very repetitive), although I was told that it would be on probability/stats for one of them. Also, one interviewer showed no interest in the interview.
Total waste of time and energy.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Questions on Python (easy) and SQL. Basic questions on ML
We are very sorry you had this experience, and we will be digging in to find out where things might have gone wrong, and make sure our process is updated to provide other candidates with an experience that truly reflects the company and culture that Plume takes pride in.

I applied online. I interviewed at Plume Design (San Jose, CA) in Aug 2020
Interview
They have multiple rounds that they do not provide information on in the beginning. The first round was with the hiring manager. He asked about the background and relevant questions around the same. The next 2 rounds were for ML and coding. In Coding round, the person asked me ML- gave a jupyter like notebook and asked to make edits and do some initial analysis. In the Ml round the interviewer asked about coding. Asked to write code for 2 leetcode medium/ easy problems and 1 SQL problem in 1 hour. So they were mixed up about the ML and coding round.
First interview with their CTO, then 2 rounds of interview with two data scientists. 2nd round focused on previous projects and coding. The third round was on previous projects and questions on machine learning. Then they rejected with an auto-generated email. After that there would have been another 4 rounds of interviews as per prior communication. The interviewers are not organized at well. First they said after CTO round there will be a coding and then virtual onsite. But a third round popped up. Initially they told the third round would be coding +ML and later said only ML. The interview was scheduled for 1 hr but continued for 80+ minutes. The interviewer was not sure about what to ask. They asks a lot of question from their projects and can't explain. The interviewers are inexperienced. Total waste of time and effort.
