I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Pies & Pints Pizzeria (New York, NY)
Interview
The 1st interview was extensive but it was very positive. Probably one of the longest interviews I've ever had, however it was in depth and we had great rapport! Spent over an hour with the director of operations and he was interested in everything I had to say & kept digging for more! By the end I felt as if I'd already landed the job. The 2nd interview was a "working interview" where they had me come in and act as if I was managing the shift, although knowing nothing about the requirements or responsibilities. They wanted to see how I'd adapt to the situation and how I'd interact with customers. Lasted a couple hours and I loved the atmosphere! Felt very much at home! Met one more time to do the background & learn about benefits and discuss culture & expectations.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Pies & Pints Pizzeria (Columbus, OH) in Jun 2014
Interview
I learned of the job opening from a friend that was working for Pies & Pints as a s server. He gave me the email of the hiring manager. We emailed back & forth for about a week until we arranged a date to sit down. I met him at the restaurant & we sat down in a booth at the end of the main dining room. We spoke for about an hour. It was casual in tone & pace of conversation. I was asked to explain my experiences as a manager to him. What some of my hobbies were. What I wanted to do with my career in the future. After the first interview I was contacted about 2 weeks later & we set up a working interview as a 2nd interview. I worked during a Thursday dinner. It was relatively steady & I was set free to work the floor as if I were managing. They observed me during this time. I worked for about 2 & 1/2 hours. At the end of my shift they said they would email me. I was emailed about 2 weeks later & offered the position.
