Thank you for sharing your perspective. I understand how a one-way interview can feel impersonal, especially for a role centered on building relationships.
I do want to clarify a few points for context. This step is not sent as a mass, automated invite. We personally reach out to candidates before inviting them to this stage, either by phone or voicemail, to explain the process and answer questions. We also share direct contact information so candidates can connect with us at any point.
At the time of this role, we received 700 applications and had narrowed the pool to a smaller group for further review. The one-way interview is one of the tools we use to ensure we can fairly evaluate candidates at that stage without overlooking strong applicants due to volume.
Every submission is reviewed by our team, and we provide individualized feedback to candidates who complete this step. This is especially important to us given how challenging the job market can be.
As a remote-first company supporting global customers, asynchronous communication is also a meaningful part of the role, and this step helps us assess that in a practical way.
We recognize that not every approach will resonate with every candidate, and we appreciate the time and effort each person puts into the process.
