      Sales Development Representative Interview

      14 Sept 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at PetDesk in Jun 2021

      Interview

The initial phone call was very quick and simple. The follow-up video interview was more in-depth. I was emailed examples of phone calls to analyze prior to the interview and we discussed them. During the interview, we acted out scenarios of phone calls that would be made in that position. It was very insightful of what the position would offer and the interviewer offered helpful feedback.

      Interview

Laughable. The worst recruiter I’ve spoken to so far and I’ve had like 15 job interviews lol - what went through this interviewers mind, I have no idea. When asked what good culture fit means to me, I explained diversity, inclusion, professional and not toxic. That should be sufficient - most recruiters move on. This recruiter kept pushing me to expand why my last job “wasn’t a fit” and if I burned bridges and she was so curious to know why I left. wth? I explained legally I couldn’t say more. The nerve, and to only offer between 15-19 an hour. LOL. They rejected me but I would’ve 100% turned them down. Beyond rude and unprofessional. Get better recruiters.

      Sales Development Representative Interview

      19 Jan 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at PetDesk in Jan 2022

      Interview

Two interviews First Interview: set up like an initial screen, but she went a little more in depth, was very warm and made the company seem very friendly and supportive. Second Interview: they told me to prep for a mock call, I did, wrote out a whole script, the guy interviewing seemed immediately disinterested, told me right off the bat that he probably wouldn't have time for the mock call because he had a hard stop at the 30-min mark (was not prepped for that), so I never got to show my abilities as a capable sales person. He asked about my background, kind of accused me of being uncommitted to the job because my previous job was much more dynamic and just asked me about my athletic background (I guess just to prove my grind? idk). It was an awkward interview and I got off the phone annoyed and knew I wasn't going to get an offer from there.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

First Interview: Professional strengths? Why sales? What gives me a competitive advantage? Professional Weaknesses? What skills are you looking to improve? Salary range? When are you available to start? Second: Background Why sales? Are you sure you want this job? Tell me about a time you used your people skills to improve a client's experience? Give me an example of a time you struggled in your position? Athletic background?
