Technical Interview about programming and math. It is about 30-min long and recruiters are very interested in rendering and simulation perspectives. Interviewees should be familiar with basic computer graphics knowledge.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Perfect World North America (New York, NY)
Interview
There were 3 rounds for the Data Science role. First round a 30 min call with the hiring manager. Second round is a take home assignment with SQL questions. Theas final round is an onsite with 5 interviews on behavioral questions and technical questions. Surprisingly all the questions were on database systems and warehousing, nothing related to data science or machine learning.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Perfect World North America (Amsterdam) in Jul 2019
Interview
lengthy 2 month process with 4 different interviews. I was approached by their HR Director for the role. Every meeting we had he was at least 30 min late, a bad first impression. Other interviewers were on time and asked good questions - overall they were all impressed and wanted to proceed.
After all interviews were successfully completed and the HR Director mentioned the job was mine, we moved to the offer stage. While waiting a week and a half for him to get the offer set-up, all of a sudden their COO pulled the plug on hiring me. A very unprofessional end to a long process.
If 1 person is able to change their mind in an instant without any detailed feedback or additional internal checks during the final contract stage of a new employee just imagine what they might do when you actually work there - dodged a massive bullet here.
I do not recommend working for Perfect World.
