      Lead Software Engineer Interview

      14 Mar 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Perfaware in Feb 2025

      Interview

TLDR; They ghosted me after the tech interview. After some initial email questions from the woman in HR, I had a 15 minute video call with her. Later that same day I had a tech interview with an engineer. This was the final interview in the process. Feedback during the interview was positive, and I was told that I would hear back soon. After about a week I still hadn't heard back, so I emailed the woman from HR asking if there were any updates. Never received a response. After about another week, I sent another email asking if there was any news related to the position. Its been over a week since then and I still haven't heard anything, so I think it is safe to assume I never will. To be clear, I am not upset that I didn't get the role. I am upset that they didn't have the decency or respect to send me the standard templated rejection email so I didn't waste my time and mental energy in limbo wondering when or if I would hear back, if I got the job or not.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

There was no coding in the tech interview. The only memorable question was a strange verbally answered one about designing an elevator management system for a building. The question involved way too many data points, most of which seemed unnecessary, and caused the question to take almost as long to ask as there was time allotted to answer (about 10 minutes).
