I would like to state that, it was one of the best
conversations I had with interviewers. Interview was really went good and I had been offered with position.
Unfortunately I was not able to join the company even though I was very interested in roles and responsibilities, since they are close to my experience and I could see my career growth.
After reviewing the whole interview process especially after conversation with HR, I noticed few potential reasons to reject the offer. It is very poor communication after the interview
process which includes negotiation and explaining the company benefits.
I was not asked for my compensation expectations before I have been offered
with some number and I was not aware of the company benefits before I
received offer letter. I was expecting that someone will walk-through me
for all the benefits and polices of the company but I did not get a chance
to talk about benefits. I noticed its been always a one side talk and I don't
think I can call it as conversations since it is not two way. I felt
humiliated when I been told that I have two years of experience which is
actually 5+ years of experience as in my resume. Especially the
conversation I had with HR was really disheartening since the moment I receive
the call from her when I was trying to negotiate, I had been forced to say YES for declining the offer. I was also told that it is a company policy that they are not supposed to
spend more than 10 minutes on negotiation. But I felt it was really unfair
if I don't get a chance to talk about my concerns and questions where there
was a lack of information on offer letter like 401K and etc. I had to insist
many times for answers to my questions.
After considering the treatment I received in last part of interview
process I felt it was really discouraging and I can say this was the worst
experience I ever had. I can not think of myself in helpless position if I
get same one way talk treatment after joining the company, it is
unimaginable if I don't get my concerns addressed. I feel there would be
better ways to convey the message instead of making people humiliated.
