I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Penguin Random House (New York, NY) in Dec 2017
Interview
I received a phone call, which turned into an impromptu interview. A few days later I received a call inviting me to schedule and in-person interview with a hiring manager, who ended up being an editor at one of the imprints.

Question 1
How do you stay organized? What computer programs are you familiar with? Why are you interested in publishing?
I interviewed at Penguin Random House (London, England)
Interview
Filled out 3 competency questions online, these were ten assessed and if you were rated highly you went to next round which was hireview, then if selected individual interview and a group task
Very nice interviewer, felt very conversational. I wasn't well-prepared, but as long as you know your resume well, you should be fine even though it is competitive. Very corporate feel as expected of such a large publishing group.
