After applying via a friend who works there I got an email with a link to an online interview. You basically get a question, have ~5s to read it, and then the camera starts recording you and your answer. Around 5-8 questions in total. No second chance, just one try! This was the weird part, especially because one of the questions was about my salary expectations. I always feel that it’s a bad sign if you’re asked about this at the beginning, but here I talked to a robot and nobody talked to me about the role yet.
After that I had a 1h interview with the hiring manager which was a delight! He was actually much more interested in getting to know me, and to understand what I did in my life (not professionally) and why. We had a great discussion and I felt like we should become buddies , I’m sure we would.
The next interview was with someone from the team (the only one, small team), also 1h long and also just a great 1h talk with a great and interesting person. She also was much more interested in the chemistry between us than she was in my professional achievements. Both interviewers were so friendly, cool, interesting, relaxed, it really was something I haven’t experienced like this before when interviewing. Between every step HR called me to let me know that I passed and to schedule the next interview.
The next step was a home assignment. I can’t say anything about it since I haven’t opened the link. I had to stop the hiring process since another company made me an offer I couldn’t reject.
But my experience was so good that I had to share!
