      Specialist Interview

      5 Aug 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Paycom in Jul 2019

      Interview

I was invited to apply for the specialist role via email so I set up the first interview, phone interview, that lasted about 30 minutes. A couple of days later I received a call from a recruiter to set up an in-person interview at a hiring event they had coming up. This interview was with two people and was very conversational. I felt that it went well and they told me I would hear back in 48 hours. Three days had gone by and I heard back from the recruiter asking me to come back for a third interview. He also asked me to apply since I didn't originally apply and to take a simple excel test. I submitted the test and application before the third interview. During the last interview, it was also a two-person interview asking pretty similar questions to the second interview. This time however the person leading the interview did 90% of the talking and didn't leave much room for me to talk. He was explaining the role of a specialist which is great I just feel like I didn't have much time to answer the questions because he talked so much. They said I would hear back in two to three business days on if I got the job or not. Three days had gone by and I hadn't heard anything so I called to talk to the recruiter. He said he had not received feedback yet but was hoping to get back with me by Monday (this was Friday). I still hadn't heard back by Tuesday, a full week after my interview, so I reached out to the recruiter again and was told that even though I was a good fit for Paycom they didn't think I would be a good fit for the specialist role. A role they asked me to apply for. It was very frustrating because I felt if I wasn't a good fit for this role I shouldn't have been asked to apply for the second interview. It was a huge waste of my time to go through with this and they didn't even have the common courtesy to get back with me in the time they said they would. I feel like if I hadn't reached out to the recruiter I would still be wondering either I got the job or not. I also don"t feel I was given very much final feedback on why I wouldn't be a good fit for the specialist role. I reached back out to the recruiter asking for better feedback but haven't heard back almost a week later. I have heard so many good things about the company but this experience put a really bad taste in my mouth.

      Specialist Interview

      22 Nov 2023
      Anonymous employee
      Oklahoma City, OK
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Paycom (Oklahoma City, OK) in Nov 2023

      Interview

I submitted my application, one of many, and all of my information was saved from the last time. In a very short turnaround, they contacted me for a phone screening. They asked me some simple questions about myself and then gave me a lot of information about the job and Paycom. She said that she would forward me on to the next round and gave me some pointers on how to perform well in the interview stage. I received an email with some suggested material to review and notes on how to interview. My interview happened quickly after that and was just 2 other people and myself sitting at a round table. They asked only about 5 questions and asked if I had any questions. I asked my questions and then left. I got the call offering me the position the next day.
