      Technical Support Engineer Interview

      25 Nov 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Santa Clara, CA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at PayNearMe (Santa Clara, CA) in Nov 2025

      Interview

Phone Screen (30 mins), Zoom 1 with Hiring Manager (1 hour), Zoom 2 with Tech+ TAM II (1 hour) , Zoom 3 with Tech + CSM (1 hour). 7 email threads. Interview were basic generic questions, more focused on personality analysis. The technical interview was well within my scope. The women were much more engaging and friendly than the men for some reason. Dudes were grumpy. (I'm Male) I was expecting no offer - most open reqs at this level go to nepo. Not sure if that happened, but I set my expectations accordingly. Got the bad news today. 500 tickets a month seemed like a stretch either way.

      Technical Support Engineer Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at PayNearMe in Dec 2025

      Interview

Over the course of 2 months, I had 7 interviews. I was told that I was one of four candidates remaining for two positions. In speaking with the leadership team in the last 3 interviews, two of the directors smirked and laughed when I asked when they planned to hire for the role and said "just hang in there". The entire process felt like a humiliation ritual, as I'm sure they already had individuals in mind that they wanted to hire, and were comfortable with wasting my time. The recruiter even called to tell me at 6:30 p.m. on a Friday, after waiting a week to hear back, that I was not selected. She stated that she was unable to share any info regarding why or give me any feedback for future improvement. I'm glad I went through the full process because it was a lesson learned and I will NEVER do it again for any other organization.
