      Development Manager Interview

      2 Jun 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Basingstoke, England
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Park Now (Basingstoke, England) in May 2017

      Interview

I applied online and received a response the next day morning over email. A phone interview was scheduled for the same week. The hiring manager called for a 30-minute chat, was punctual and pretty well spoken. He made time for both asking questions and answering them. I was told in the same interview that I would be called in for a face-to-face. The in-person interview confirmation came through the next day over email. This interview as 2-hour long. After a 15 minute meet and greet, I was required to take a written examination. This was a combination of some math questions (e.g. how much is 12% of 200), written communication (chose the right spelling of), etc. I had 20 minutes to finish. As step 2, I was introduced to two potential peer employees and allowed to ask all sorts of questions for about 20 minutes. Step 3 was the actual interview, where I was asked to explain my background and expand on relevant bits of my experience (a copy of the detailed job description was handily provided to help). This lasted for about 35-40 minutes. And finally, I was given a tour of the office before being escorted out. Overall the entire process was well organised, the interviewer had questions prepared in advance and I was given ample opportunity to ask my own. The final feedback was received the next day morning. They had decided not to progress with my application. The only hitch I saw was that the details of my existing salary package were not discussed until the very last few minutes of the interview. I could not but help wonder whether my expected salary was a factor. But overall I was quite happy with how the process was organised.
