Interview
The Paravel employee reached out to schedule a call after I applied, we met over video call 2 days later. The call went really well she said she was impressed and that she thought I should meet the rest of the team shortly as they were looking to hire before July 4th holiday( approx, 1 week away). After that 2 weeks go by without any response so I followed up, she said she had covid and that she was sorry, but would be in touch "in a day or two" for next steps. That was close to a month ago. Seems like a nice place to work, but that's about as disrespectful as an interview process as I have come across thus far in my career.

Interview
A majority of the interviews were conducted by the recently hired Marketing Manager via Google Meet, which was I really better than a standard phone call because you could see each other “face to face”. It took about half an hour for the first interview, in which you were asked the typical questions and given a brief explanation of the company which is quite new. The second interview was also a Google Meet interview, though quite brief. Then if you were chosen to move on, you’d go into the office to meet with the co-founders and Marketing Manager. In my case, I was asked to perform and submit a skills test over the weekend because my second “phone” interview was on a Friday. I was given a clear deadline and had to drum up a Social Media plan for organic growth, as well as use existing photos and material to create an Instagram story. This felt like a lot of information, considering they need a large boost of followers as a new company (roughly 2 years old) and a good amount of help. I was offered an in-person interview during my second “phone” interview/post skills assessment check in, and was ready to show up bright and early that morning. It turns out my interview was canceled because they decided to move forward with another candidate, which is fine — however, the email was sent after 10pm the night before the interview, well after I had gone to sleep in order to prepare for the early morning. I found this to be incredibly rude and inconsiderate, especially considering they now have my intellectual property in their hands, available for use.
