The interview process here was about as strange as it could get. An email was sent to set up an interview for 30 minutes with the marketing leader and two other people, I was not informed that it would be a group interview. It turned out to be a panel interview with 3 people. At the start of my interview he told me he had an internal candidate he wanted to hire and this was "just a conversation." The leader told me he had only been in marketing for 4 months and had no previous marketing experience, he had been promoted into leadership from an unrelated role in the company. He stressed the longevity of people with the company and seemed to have no interest in getting to know me. It was very obvious that he had no intention of hiring anyone outside the company and wanted to hire the internal candidate. I received no follow up or response to the thank you emails I sent and received a form letter a few weeks later saying they hired the internal candidate. I would rate this lower than a 1 if I could, the company is obviously wasting people's time and does not care at all to entertain candidates who are taking the interview process seriously and want to join the company.
