A recruiter contacted me for the position and I had a phone screening with an HR person at Overhill. Later had and onsite one with the QA Director and the QA Manager whom I was going to be replacing. Later went in for a 3rd interview with people from different departments 30 min each for 2 hours. The entire process was about a month long. The team there was really great and I had a great time meeting everyone. I thought I had the position in the bag and so did my recruiter until I got to the interview with their HR head Alan Cedilla at the Vernon facility. Everyone else was friendly and welcoming and kept the interview under 30 min. I thought it would just be a formality with Alan but he started to nitpick at my resume and lowball me with salary. At one point he even asked why I don't take something closer to where I am living. I think I let my confusion show because he tried to clarify "it sounds like I'm discouraging you from this position but I'm not". But he was definitely doing that and pulled out some outdated version of a psych test that asked me if I prefer working alone or in a group etc. That interview left a bad taste in my mouth and I had doubts leaving the facility. Later I was told I didn't have enough experience for the position and discussed that outcome with my recruiter who also thought it strange. You can tell experience right away based off resume and initial interview so for them to go 3 rounds just to give that as an excuse was strange. What likely happened was internal politics and Alan in HR was going to reject me before I even met him. Unfortunately, this happens a lot in corporate and is a huge waste of everyone's time.
