The first phase was a prescreening interview with the principal virtually. It was simple but provided a good overview of the job. Next was the in person interview with the principal again and the two A.P.s for the high school. I learned more about what to expect and got to answer some more in-depth questions. After the interview on Monday, everything felt good and they seemed to really like me. Friday comes and one of the A.P.s called me asking if I would consider being a bookkeeper instead of a secretary. They said I was too overqualified to be a secretary and they don't want me to get bored and leave, but they still want me on the team. Since I've had some bookkeeping experience in my former role, I said sure why not. They've seen my resume and have gotten to learn a bit about me. They must think I can do it.
For the third time I am interviewing with the principal and now the lady in charge of finances and who would be my direct supervisor. She asked a lot of scenario based questions and even admitted that lots would have to be learned on the job like the way they use QuickBooks. So, I felt good knowing that they thought I was bright enough to even be considered but also were willing to teach me on the job. But I guess jokes on me because it's now been 3 weeks with not so much as a rejection letter. Even after I followed up with both the principal and the A.P. It makes sense why their bookkeeper and secretary left mid school year. I found them to be extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. I'm so glad I didn't put all my eggs into one basket and am now content in my new role. I hope moving forward they don't waste anyone's time and at least have the decency to COMMUNICATE!!
