Don't Waste Your Time...
Interview Process:
1. Phone call
2. Zoom with CEO
3. In-office trial
I started with a phone interview. It was a pretty easy interview overall, just making sure I was interested and qualified for the position. The interviewee asked some odd questions such as working with difficult people, dealing with a large amount of conflict in general. This struck me as odd and alarming. The job sounded like a great opportunity, so I kept going through the process.
The one-on-one video zoom interview with Yifat Oren, the owner/CEO was next. It started off on a sour note as she was 20 minutes late to our call and did not acknowledge or apologize for her tardiness. During our chat, I could clearly tell she did not prepare for our meeting as she knew very little about me, my abilities and even what the job position she was hiring for entailed. Throughout the call, I was constantly repeating myself and there were uncomfortable pauses during our conversation where I could see she was typing or texting on her phone.... in the middle of our interview. I could understand if this happened once or twice, but it repeatedly occurred throughout our 'conversation'. She was distracted and uninterested the entire time, like I was an inconvenience. The brief conversation we did have was condescending, demeaning, and almost threatening.
I guess my interview with Yifat went well and I was invited to an in-office trial to meet their small team for two hours, I declined.
My interview with the CEO was what made my decision to not pursue this position further. She obviously did not care about me or my time, it was rude and unprofessional. After reflecting on this process, I could make a safe assumption that she was the reasoning for the 'difficult people' questions on my phone interview. Not someone I would like to work closely with.
Red flags abound. I'm glad I did not pursue this position further. By the looks of the reviews on Glassdoor and Yelp, I made the right decision...very alarming. I'd avoid this place at all costs.
