I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Optiver (Sydney) in Apr 2015
Interview
Applied with CV and cover letter before the April deadline.
Email to have the 8min test. Did it. Do it in a quiet space. Practise lots before. I hadn't practised fractions enough especially. There is a lot of time if you can do calcs in your head. I found the digital test loads harder than the written one (which I took at first interview. 62 and 78 respectively.) If you are aiming for full marks, pacing is important or some way of marking off ones that you are second thinking, as cant check over them once you are done.
Phone call to schedule interview not long after closing date.
Phone interview. - standard questions that you read on this sight.
First interview (after paper 8min and sequences test (sequences cant really be practised for, do the difference method - last three sequences are tough. Lots of time though). Behavioural questions in the interview - a senior trader and an HR lady.
Final interview a few weeks later in Sydney. Shadowing traders, another senior trader/ HR interview, group activity and a talk with the senior trader.
Dinner out that night
I missed the job. Wasnt good enough at picking up new methods of doing things. Was fair.
Thought the process was great. Everyone was so nice throughout, really quick to respond about each next round and awesome work building. Even if you dont want this job, just enter for the process and you will be impressed.

Question 1
If you want this job, search the net and you will find all you need. This will only give you a headstart though. I reckon that if you are what they are looking for, you will get it regardless though
I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Optiver (Amsterdam) in Mar 2026
Interview
Did the online assement, sequences test, Zap N and lastly beat the odds probability type questions. The Zap N was some working memory, reflexing and planning tests and the beat the odds focused on giving good approximations to probabilities in around 1.5 minute for each question. Then did the technical which focused on market making games. Unfortunately, I was rejected after this round so don't much more than this.
it almost took more than 2 hours to finish the online assessment, then a hr interview with typical behaviour questions. online assessment is not easy, including mental mathematics and logical reasoning questions. Hr interview is quite relaxed

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Optiver (Amsterdam) in Jan 2025
Interview
first round: assessment with sequences, a variety of games testing memory, reaction speed, then a behavioral interview and finally a technical interview where we played a market-making game. The market making game included cards, you had to decide to buy/sell, what quantities etc. Assesment and behavioral where passable, technical was really difficult.
