It's very long winded for a SWE2. Each interview after the hiring manager was with 2 people.
1. Hiring manager call (30 min)
2. "Pair programming" (45 min) - I put this in quotes because it was unconventional. I was given 30 minutes to implement a game, except I'm not the one actually typing. It was pretty clear the other guy didn't know Javascript, which was my language of choice. The other interviewer kept interrupting as well.
3. Front-end deep dive (75 min) - This interview was fantastic, both people seemed down to earth and it was a great discussion. No complaints here.
4. System design (45min) - Equal as awkward as the pair programming because I was explaining what I would do and someone else was diagramming. It was okay, not nearly as bad as the pair programming.
I got a generic no-reply rejection after the loop (steps 2-4). I feel like the least they could do is break the news to me via a phone call after all the time I put in.
Note - If I would have passed the loop, I would have had another 30 to 60 minute interview with both the director and hiring manager.
Overall a pretty poor experience
