      Computer Vision Engineer Interview

      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

      I interviewed at OpenSpace (CA)

      Interview

I got contacted by their internal recruiter to select availability for an initial interview. I did, we agreed on a time, and the recruiter did not show up. We exchanged some emails and set up a 2nd time to meet. Once again, he doesn't show. He asked for a 3rd opportunity and I declined. OpenSpace - this is how you're being represented to potential candidates. You missed out.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Can't ask me anything when you literally don't show up for the interview.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We sincerely apologize for the missed connections and the frustration this caused. Your time is valuable, and what you described does not reflect the level of professionalism we expect from our recruiting process. We take this feedback seriously and are actively reviewing what went wrong to ensure it does not happen again. OpenSpace is committed to creating a respectful and reliable candidate experience, and it's clear we fell short in your case. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and regret that we missed the opportunity to connect. Wishing you the very best in your future endeavors.

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at OpenSpace (CA) (San Francisco, CA) in Nov 2019

      Interview

I was connected to their CEO by a mutual acquaintance. We saw that there was an immediate fit based on my skill set so we opted directly for an onsite interview. I spoke with the CEO and the other two cofounders. The interview consisted of speaking about my experience and digging into my technical skills. Overall I had a great time and had a pleasant conversation. There was no follow-up after this point, even after sending a few follow-up emails. This company ghosted me and I never heard back from them. Extremely unprofessional. Given the technical backgrounds and experience from the three cofounders, I would have expected a lot better. This lack of professional courtesy and integrity should be an indication of how they treat their employees. Stay away at all costs.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

First part was talking about my experiences in terms of building backend pipelines, computer vision algorithms, 3D reconstruction concepts and general software engineering. The second part was more theoretical questions dealing with machine learning, mathematics, training models and linear algebra.
