I had a quick phone screen with what I assume was an HR representative where we talked about my related experience, hours, and whether I would be a good fit for the position. I was then scheduled a video interview with the two owners. The interview was incredibly brief (scheduled for 30 minutes but lasted around 15) and disorganized. When the first of the owners joined the call, she appeared to be out in public on a walk or something of that nature. She then began to explain what they were looking for and asked if I thought I would be a good fit. She then went on to ask me to rate myself from 1-10 on how comfortable I felt with a range of skills. Around this time the second owner entered the call, and although she seemed a lot more prepared and pleasant to talk to, she kept her camera off and only asked me one question which was about my availability. I then asked some questions about the future of the company and position, along with when I could expect to hear back from them about their decision. They said they had 1-2 other interviews to do and that I should expect an update within 1-2 weeks. That was July 15th, and it is now September 9th. I have received no further communication from them.
If one of the owners ends up reading this, please change how you conduct your interviews. Scheduling someone for an interview while not preparing any meaningful questions ahead of time and ad-libbing on the spot while you're taking a stroll outside is a terrible method that was incredibly unprofessional and insulting to both of our times.
