For me, the application process involved the following stages... 1) Initial application. 2) Screening call with an internal recruiter (Google Meet video call). 3) Numeracy and literacy test (one of each). 4) Discovery Day (Zoom video call). 5) Final call and offer (Google Meet video call). The total time from initial application to offer was 19 days (10 working days). I was kept well informed by Annie (internal recruiter) at every stage of my application. The numeracy and literacy tests were a lot more difficult than I initially anticipated. I would highly recommend going through the practice tests before starting the real thing as you don't get a lot of time to answer each (multiple-choice) question. The Discovery Day involved an introduction to Octopus, icebreakers, a customer service scenario session, a 'come up with a new Octopus product idea or partnership' session, a 1-1 competency-based interview, a Q&A session and a final roundup/next steps explanation. The call lasted 2.5 hours and included roughly 30 applicants from around the country for various roles in the UK. I had a final call with Annie (internal recruiter) and Sam (team leader) which involved clarifying my answers to a couple of the competency questions that I had been asked during my Discovery Day 1-1 interview. After this, I was then asked if I had any questions or concerns about the role before being offered the job! Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the process from application to offer and I am really looking forward to starting with Octopus at their Warwick office later this month!
