I had initial conversation with their tech recruiter via Cord, he seemed friendly and helpful. He organised an interview with one of their Engineering Managers and a Senior Frontend Engineers, that I attended. I felt it was a good interview from my side so I subsequently awaited feedback. When I had talks with the recruiter afterwards I felt the feedback given was not helpful as I was told the Engineering Manager was looking to “tick the boxes twice in every area” (whatever that means) and that they were also looking for “someone to lead and push emerging tech trends” - the latter of which I’ve done for the best part of 8 years where I am currently at.
However, an interview for another role of the same seniority was offered to me, so I decided to give it another shot. This time before I was to speak with the Engineering Manager on this team, I had to do a 45 min live coding exercise with two other engineers. It was a simple exercise of essentially combining and sorting an array of objects.
After this I never heard back from anyone. I contacted the recruiter on multiple platforms but I was completely ghosted. I think this is incredibly rude and disrespectful, especially when people are dedicating their time to committing to these long winded interview processes.
Very disappointed. Be very aware that they’re only nice and friendly to you when it’s serving their own agenda and you have to ask yourself, is this really a company you’d like to be working for when this is the way they treat people.
