Two-stage interview:
First with the HR department, where there were general questions.
The second stage was technical - with the head of the geology and field development department. I was given test questions on several sheets, I solved them and provided the answers to HR. They also asked questions regarding my responsibilities at that time and what production stimulation techniques I implemented & applied at the oilfields.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at OMV Petrom (Bucharest, Bucuresti) in Nov 2024
Interview
The interview process was unexpectedly long and overly complex for the actual scope of the role. It involved several rounds, including discussions with HR, hiring managers, and senior executives—each repeating similar questions. While the process was structured, it felt unnecessarily bureaucratic and failed to assess strategic thinking or transformation experience in a meaningful way. The focus was heavily on process conformity rather than leadership capability or vision. At times, it felt more like a formality than a genuine exploration of fit.
