I went to their career fair because I received an email from their HR right around the time my contract was ending. I pulled up the building and honestly wasn't even sure if I was in the right place... their building is an old warehouse building with no logo and a security fence surrounding. There a guard booth that you have to go through to even get into the building. I almost gave up on this place at that point, just because of how much of a hassle it is to get into the building. A group of us (me and other job seekers) were escorted in by armed guards. Once in, they had me sit at a folding table and fill out a long 10 page application. I would have left at this point but I would have had to go through the whole security checkpoint thing so I filled it out and waited. I waited about an hour and a half before talking to anyone.... during my wait, I noticed that employees had to be buzzed in by the guard(to go from lobby to anywhere else in building).... they didn't even have their own keycard. I was finally called in to meet with an HR guy who seemed overwhelmed and unhappy. When I asked about their hiring timeframe, he said it could take weeks to call you in for second interview.... thats just how it works here. I got the sense that the security was a paranoia thing. I would have thought this was a military base if I didn't look and see that it was just a company that prints posters and flyers. I basically left with the thought that I wouldn't both if they called. The idea that they hold frequent job fairs makes me think that turnover is high. They would hire anyone with a pulse since no one in their right mind wants to work for this company.
