I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Nuvalence
Interview
Approached by a recruiter. That was great.
Scheduled technical phone screening with a developer. That was also great. I answered every question and had a great conversation with their engineer.
After some time received the phone call that the position they called me about was filled.
Okay, that was awkward but it happens!
They asked me if I would be willing to go on a similar interview but full-stack engineer (I was approached for a position of front-end engineer). I expressed concerns but still decided to go through.
When I got the second technical interview, a very unpleasant person was waiting on the other side of the video call. Right from the start, I was told that interview will be about 45 minutes long. 45 minutes is not enough to evaluate someone's expertise. 15 minutes I was asked about my previous experiences and I understood right at that point that interviewer is NOT listening to the word I'm saying.
Also, I was told that the last 15 or so minutes will be reserved for my questions. That would give us 15 minutes for a technical challenge. That is not enough for ANYTHING.
I was given a pretty hard task with minimal explanation. Code was being written on some online text editor (pretty standard practice). During the whole time, the interviewer gave me 0 feedback or any signs of interest in what I'm doing. The only sounds I received from the other side were puffing and panting. After some time the interviewer muted the mic.
After about 10 minutes I gave up on the task as I realized I could not solve it in the given time and I was getting annoyed (which was probably picked up from the other side).
Overall one of the worst interview experiences in my professional life!

Question 1
Interviewer: "Hi, how are you doing today?"
Me: "Well, not so great. Had some personal stuff to deal with and I'm not really in great shape. Thanks for asking."
Interviewer: "Awesome, awesome!"
