I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Nurturing Wisdom (Chicago, IL) in Oct 2012
Interview
There was an application test, a skype interview, and a general orientation. Overall, it took about a couple of weeks and was a really pleasant process. Everyone was friendly and accommodating with my schedule, and I thought the questions/tasks made a lot of sense for the position. If you're able to clearly communicate and can think on your feet, the interview process is not incredibly difficult.
Many companies start with several back-to-back phone screens to evaluate fundamental skills and communication, followed by a deeper interview round that includes scenario-based questions and requires meaningful preparation from the candidate.

Question 1
How would you handle a parent asking you why their child is not improving.

Interview
Process was standard, the initial academic/test prep type of test after hearing back. Then the phone interview and coach interview went smoothly. Discussed how to handle feedback and how you would tutor a student. Only problem was that I completed orientation, and the same night I received a rejection email then also got mixed communication about my acceptance or rejection with no clear answer other than silence.

Interview
quick interview they just asked about my experience and what subjects I was qualified to tutor. Then they asked me how I would behave in certain circumstances (i.e. if tutored student ended up not performing well, how would i deal with the student and parents).
