Shortly after applying, I had a virtual interview with a recruiter. During the call, the recruiter had pulled up someone else's resume and was asking me questions about my experiences working at those companies. The recruiter seemed flustered and was furiously trying to find my resume in his files. Not a great start as this demonstrated a lack of organization. I then advanced to a virtual interview with the hiring manager. On the day of the interview, I got an email from another recruiter asking if we could push the interview back a few minutes to accommodate a last-minute meeting the hiring manager needed to attend. A few minutes after our rescheduled interview call began, I got an email from the hiring manager saying that she needed to reschedule (again) as she was still in her meeting and that HR would reach out. When I finally did interview with the hiring manager, she showed up more than 5 minutes late to our 30-minute call and made more excuses about why she couldn't show up on time. The interview went OK, and the hiring manager expressed interest in reconnecting with me. Two weeks went by without an update. I finally reached out to the recruiter and asked for an update. I did notice in their career portal that my application status had been moved to "no longer under consideration." As a communication professional, I check my email daily and never received so much as an automated response from the system. I did, however, get a reply from the recruiter who said the hiring manager moved forward with an internal candidate who more closely aligned with the position. Overall, an unprofessional, inconsiderate process that wasted my time.

Began with a conversation with the recruiter followed by two rounds of interviews including peers and the hiring manager (all over Zoom). Very positive and informative conversations about the role and company during the interviews.
