I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Westport, CT)
Interview
The interview process is pretty basic. I spoke to a recruiter on the phone and then got invited to an interview at an office near my house. All behavioral questions. They really just look for people that are outgoing and have a good chance at excelling at the internship.
It's a great experience because you are working with your own clients and you have the possibility of earning a lot of money. But you really get out of the internship as much as you put into it. You manage your own time and your own clients. It's a great opportunity to try out a career as a financial representative/financial advisor.
There were four or five interviews, if you count the meeting with my future mentor. There were also a few personality assessments. Lots of paperwork. The finance industry is tightly regulated.
The first interview was easygoing and went fairly well. We talked a little on myself and what northwestern was all about. Because they wanted to see how I could fit in to their team and what I would bring.

The process was smooth and straight forward. A lot of behavioral based questions, but relaxed and low stress. First phase is a phone screening followed by a teams or in person meeting.
