The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual in Nov 2010
Interview
There are four interview stages: first was the initial phone interview. Met with a recruiter who knew a good deal of whatever I asked. She then sent me home with 2 personality test. The second interview should you pass the test is with the recruiter again then with a one on one with the managing partner so you can get a feel for each other and the atmosphere within the office. The third interview is with you potential feild director or mentor, then a Ono on one with a younger rep with experience to ask any questions you may be hesitant on asking anyone else and they will give it to you straight. Should you be asked for a fourth interview, this is where they ask you to come aboard. They will give you time but I accepted right away. Good decision

Interview
Interviews were very easy. Didn't feel like there was any competition. Met with a recruiter, director of growth, and didn't go through with final interview. Needed to fill out referrals sheet and conduct interviews that concluded with asking if they would be interested in my service.

Interview
Teams call with the director of recruiting who was herself a skilled salesperson and had her script memorized to a tee. This was clearly a commission sales job where the candidate would have to use their own connections to generate their own leads. But, the product isn't terrible or outside my wheelhouse so I was interested in continuing with the process. I then failed their outdated "personality test", the type which has been debunked as completely ineffective, so the director of recruiting told me my candidacy was "on pause".
