Firstly there was an application form to be filled in - the company don't accept CVs. The form is the same one they have been using for years and was designed as a paper document. Although they sent an electronic copy, and it was possible to type into it (although difficult to get good formatting) I decided it would be easier to use the form as it was designed by printing it out and writing on it.
The interview was a friendly discussion with head of department and another staff member. No "interview questions". One thing to note is that the interviewers had only been given parts of my application form by HR. They didn't have my personal details. I had hoped that being a local person would count in my favour, since the company are very involved in the local community. The opportunity to mention it didn't arise in the interview and it was only when chatting as I was being shown out afterwards that I was asked where I lived!
