The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Nora Lighting (Los Angeles, CA) in Aug 2024
Interview
The interview process moves very quickly, one zoom interview then in person. They test you on solid works and reading and building a circuit diagram for a dimmer while following up with testing you on the spot over a random problem solving question. I received a verbal offer with a targeted start date the day of my interview, I let them know I leave the next day for 5 days and then I can begin. When I come back I hear nothing back completely ignored. I had other job offers in line that I rejected for this company, extremely unprofessional I have never experienced anything like this.

Interview
Applied online and was contacted by the lead product engineer who was very nice and courteous. 2 on site interviews, first one was to talk about your background and skills and also for you to understand what they do. Second interview was technical interview that will test your cad skills, mechnical aptitude test, and ability to read wiring diagram.
Here comes the problem: After the second interview a manager was brought in to introduce themselves to me and gave me a verbal offer but with a below market average salary. Before the offer they spoke about how I was entering a new industry so my past experiences won't be applicable in their eyes (past experiences as a mechanical engineer). and I will be viewed the same as a newly college grad. When I countered about my values and what a fair salary should be they said that is negotiable and will have to go through higher up and will get back to me within a week even if the counter offer was rejected.
I had to reach back out in 2 weeks just to find out they moved forward with a different candidate.
I don't think it's wrong to find a more suitable candidate but at least have the professionalism to contact a candidate that you have already verbally offered and was promised to get back to.

Interview
Got called in for an interview. Felt a little rushed as interviewer told me to go over my resume and experience. I made it a point that I didn't have eng drawings since they were company property of places I worked at but interviewer seemed adamant on wanting to see them. Got called in for a 2nd interview for technical skills, which included designing a part interviewer shows you, wiring a circuit, and general lighting design questions.
