I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at NoGood in Aug 2025
Interview
Four elements to this interview.
My initial phone screening - which went well.
Meeting with a couple of members of the team + HR - which also went well, although they seemed distracted.
Then the "take-home", which asked for a full media plan based off an existing client (one of the case studies on their website), which I found somewhat disingenuous. I completed the project, which was supposed to take "3 hours max" - a full media plan should always take longer than three hours to put together, and they didn't provide all the data required to build out a comprehensive plan.
The next meeting was to go through the plan, and it was a complete disconnect. They seemed dubious of my approach - I believe because they already had an approach with the client and accepted it as gospel, and wanted to hire someone who approached the problem the way that they did.
Didn't get to the next step in the process, but didn't expect to. Overall, a let down.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why would you split up a budget in so many different channels?
I went through the normal phases: HR interview, technical interview, a trial which was making an entire media strategy (this is a lot of work) and finally a presentation, I did well during my interview, however, they did 2 things which made this suspicious to me:
1- They recorded the interview without telling me
2- They promised there will be some sort of payback for the work on the trial ( it was a 50$ which is very cheap but I could accept it as a meaningful gesture) they didn't send even the 50$ card, which is not equivalent to an hour of pay for someone of my level ( i put more than 10 hours)
3- they completely ghosted me after that
I believe this might be a scam to get free work out of us candidates, I wouldn't recommend you ever give them your time.

mostly generic questions about performance marketing

Interview
Interview process was straight forward. Call to get a sense of fit, meeting with manager, assignment, meeting to go over the assignment.
However, they said they paid for the time to complete the assignment. They never did and went dark when asked about it.
