I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Niantic (Los Angeles, CA) in Sept 2021
Interview
Transparent, committed and attentive are what comes to mind when I interviewed with Niantic.
After connecting with the hiring manager, I went through a series of interviews to give me an opportunity to meet the team, and who I could potentially be working with should I get an offer. Everyone was super friendly, and they also asked questions that were challenging enough to show that I will get a chance to learn and grow by working here.
Leadership gave an insight on “what keeps them up at night” and the recruiting team was very accommodating to the tight timelines and the numerous questions I had regarding the position.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
“What could you have done better on that project?”
“What games do you play?”
The interviewer will cover the three stages: role introduction, Pokemon-related questions, and Project management experience. It was through a virtual meeting, and the overall experience was good. A contractor role and will not convert into full-time.

Question 1
What is your favorite Pokémon and what is the reason
Common question, pretty simple. without any follow up. Interviewer was late. No follow up letter, no feedback. Very strange process. It was frustration because of lack of transparency. However the interviewer seemed friendly.

Question 1
What are your sources of XR news/ tech developments?
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Niantic in Oct 2024
Interview
HR was great. But second round interviewer..During the questioning process, the interviewer kept typing on computer, using phones. The whole process is not comfortable. I don't really think they want to hire someone.
