I had a phone screen with the recruiter, who was only hired a month or two before. It was pretty standard. She explained the position and asked some questions about my background. I was then scheduled for a Skype call with the policy/communications manager. I kinda lost interest in working there after learning how small of a startup it is. The role also seemed to involve a lot of cross departmental work and not much supervision. I think my lack of interest showed in my responses and effort. A few things that did interest me were that the previous policy intern was from Harvard and their new CEO is from Square. They took a long time to get back to me with a rejection. My interview was on January 7th, and I got the rejection email on February 26th.
