Interview
A total of 8 meetings and time wasted. 2 screening interviews. A screening take home excel exercise plus additional screening interview. Followed by 3 case study interviews, plus another hiring manager follow-up, and something that was supposed to be like a behavioral interview. The case studies were conducted decently and with dignity. In the behavioral interview I was told that I had no expertise at all what-so-ever. From the start of the behavioral interview, I felt nitpicked on the slightest word usage through to feeling angry and confused by the end of the interview. I was shocked. I was given prep on what each interviewer would focus. Only the first two interviews lined up with what was provided. The rest either repeated or didn’t match in the slightest. If one is to prep, going outside of the coloring lines is expected, but going off page isn’t. As well, the information could have simply been sent by email instead of an additional meeting making the total google meets meeting up to 9! The person who landed the job I am sure is happy and happy to have had 9 google meets plus time preparing and completing the excel assignment.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Your experience seems to be an outlier to our interview process. We respect that interviewing can be time consuming so it is our goal to streamline it as much as possible. We have a structured interview process and each interviewer has specific areas of focus so they can understand each candidates competencies in those areas. Our recruiters spend time with our candidates to prepare them for their interviews so that they can think of examples from their pasts that highlight those competencies. I will review that process with our team to make sure we are all aligned.
