Fairly easy process from start to finish. I had a phone call, scheduled an in person interview. I needed to fill out paperwork and then take a preemployment drug test. Received another call after test and then another final interview.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at New Holland Auto Group (New Holland, PA) in Dec 2010
Interview
Be prepared to be sold a dream. They know that if you are applying for a position in car sales, your options may be limited. You have to keep in mind that the managers interviewing you are the best salesman in the dealership. The process itself is not long if they decide they want you.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They will ask you, "Why do you want to sell cars?". If you're down to earth, your answer may not matter, but if you think you're on the fence, just tell them you want to make money and they will be all over you.
I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at New Holland Auto Group (New Holland, PA)
Interview
During the interview I was asked many questions about my desire to sell cars and why I would want to do such a thing. I was told how much money I should make and several managers described the nature of the work. They essentially sold me a sales job. There is a very high turn-over rate across the sales industry so the managers like words like "make a career of this" and "long term". Also, continuing to follow up and track down after your interview is great. The managers do a terrible job at calling prospective employers back, plus it shows that you have crucial job skills.

"When it snows, everyone must come in regardless of if it's your day off or not to help clear the lots, is this going to be a problem to you?"
